The task of the Show Manager involves two levels of responsibility: during events themselves and in the production of these events.

Production role

The Show Manager is in charge of planning the volunteers for each event of Flock Theatre. This involves organising volunteers and staff, prepping the planning of the evening and the call sheet.

The task involves:

Event role

The Show Manager also has a role on the shows themselves as a floor manager. They make sure to welcome everyone, brief the volunteers and staff, assure that the doors open on time, that the show starts on time and that everyone is where and when they should be.

The floor manager is in charge of making sure the call sheet is respected, that the bar can run the register, and that the audience’s ticket list is available.

In cases when the Show Manager cannot be the floor manager themselves, they can ask someone else to replace them, with the go-ahead from the co-directors.

Position in Flock Theatre

The Show Manager is a paid member of the Staff and a Company Member, which includes perks and responsibilities. It’s a prominent role in the life of the company, and they are very involved in the inner workings of the shows!

Like any other Staff position, this can be combined with an artistic position (Actor, Musician or Technician), but we also encourage anyone else who is not applying for an artistic positions.

We are building the future of Flock Theatre with a mix of people, ideas, and backgrounds. And we think that’s what makes it exciting. If you're not sure whether this is for you, please reach out. It might be!
